Beauty Review: Venus Legacy at Aeon Aesthetics

This was my body, earlier in January. You wouldn’t believe what you just saw. I’ve always had problems with my mid section, due to my irregular diet and traveling plans. I’ve always wanted and dreamed of having a bikini body (ideally with the 6 packs!) but have been dreaming for about 6 years now! haha! Lucky for me though, ever since my small cozy sharing session with the people at Aeon, Dr Kim introduced me to his Venus Legacy body contouring program, which could help me get the body I truly desire…!

I’ve since, changed my diet and lifestyle to achieve the above. I refrained from having any form of white carbs (as much as I can) on days I don’t exercise, went to the gym at least 5 times a week, included strength training and increased my cardio intensity in the last 3 months. This is what I call… RESULTS.

However, there’s also 1 other thing which I’ve included and dedicated a lot of time to! That’s Venus Legacy at Aeon Aesthetics.

I’m usually quite cynical when it comes to such things, especially with slimming treatments. I’ve tried SO MANY treatments before – fat freezing, Infra-red, RF, Tui Na, TCM, yada yada… you name it, i’ve probably tried it. A lot of people look at me and go “you’re so skinny, why are you here?”, but c’mon, everyone has got their own problem areas some things can’t fix!

Even though I started on Venus Legacy a couple of months ago, it took me a while before I decided that it was worthwhile sharing my experience. If it didn’t work, I wouldn’t be bothered with it. Truth be told, I was quite impressed at what this machine could do.

Venus Legacy tones and tightens the skin without surgery or downtime. Simply put, the machine can help with breaking down stubborn fat cells through the use of a Multi-Polar Radio Frequency + Magnetic Pulse technology. It is so technical for me to explain, but to keep it simple, it is non-invasive and pain-free (also my top 2 reasons for considering this treatment). In brief:
1 . The Multi-Polar RF delivers Fast, Pain Free, Homogeneous Heating to multiple tissue depths resulting in superior clinical outcomes.
2. Pulsed Magnetic Fields technology has been used in traditional medicine for decades and is scientifically proven with regard to its regenerative properties.
3. Vari-Pulse allows adjustable pulsed suction for deep energy penetration, lymphatic drainage, as well as stimulating circulation.
4. Real-Time Thermal Feedback integrates a hands-free thermometer with an on-screen visual feedback graph to allow for constant tissue contact for overall better clinical results.
#2 was the top reason for me as the pulsed magnetic field reduces pain felt by the patient. I’ve a low tolerance towards heat and if the heat is too low and/or temp is not checked – the effect would not be optimum.
How does it work?
A cool gel is first applied to your problem area – in my case, the abdomen. IIRC, the gel is a little different to the one you use before an ultrasound, it helps the machine to slide but also keeps in the heat more effectively needed for better results.
The therapist then chooses the size of the handpiece to suit your body. For smaller areas like the arm or for smaller patients a smaller handpiece might be used. The advantage of larger handpieces is that it is able to treat larger areas more effectively because the depth of the RF is relative to the diameter of the handpiece which would be needed for patients with a thicker fat layer. Larger handpiece also shortens the treatment time needed since it covers a larger area. The handpiece would start off cold and the temperature will start to increase to get your body warmed up.
Once your body is warmed up, the suction begins. I can accurately describe this feeling as having an octopus suck on you! hahahaha… It’s not painful or uncomfortable, but that’s the exact sentiment when the handpiece “vacuums” your fatty area. The suction (Varipulse technology) also increases blood and lymphatic circulation.

Post-treatment, the therapist tries to massage and cool down the abdomen. An anti-cellulite cream is applied here.

Finally, the procedure is done!

The whole process takes about 30 mins or so, and the redness will disappear after a day or two. Sometimes I do feel like I just did a hundred crunches, but after the first 2 – 3 sessions, I started getting used to it. I think it is important to also commit to a holistic lifestyle in order to see results. I was so determined for this to work and I consistently showed up at Aeon to ensure that I was working towards my goal of a bikini body!

There are other clinics that might offer Venus Legacy for cheaper price, but I really like AEON’s dedicated service and the skills of their therapist (I also get to do my facials at the same time, and that saved a lot of time). Aeon’s newly renovated body shaping wings are highly exclusive and private. The environment relaxes me too. I don’t usually trust other doctors as much, but Dr Kim is the main differential point to it all. For a location so central (Scotts Medical), I think it was worth every cent I paid!

So far, I’m contented with what I see visually! Of course, if you want to get more information/consultation with Dr Kim on this, call the peeps at Aeon Aesthetics at 6733 2002 for more information. 🙂
